Grand Opera House, Oshkosh

The Grand Opera House in Oshkosh is considered haunted by several spirits, including a female performer who died before opening night, a past stage manager, a little boy, and even a dog. These ghosts are thought to reside in the basement and balcony areas, and their presence is often indicated by unexplained sounds, such as a pet's footsteps, and mysterious activity like lights turning on and off by themselves. The historic theater, built in 1883, offers guided "Spirits of The Grand Tours" that allow visitors to learn about these haunted tales while experiencing the venue. A spirit of a woman who never made it to opening night. The ghost of a former stage manager. A spirit of a young boy who is also believed to be a resident. The Pup: The phantom of a dog, whose footsteps are often heard running back and forth. Disembodied footsteps, particularly those of the dog, are heard in various parts of the building. Lights are known to mysteriously turn on and off without explanation.
