Visitors and staff have reported occurrences such as a storeroom door opening by itself, appliances turning on and off, items moving in a storeroom, and the sound of rustling clothing with no one present. Some have also experienced cold spots or a numbing sensation in their hands upon entering the lobby. Adah Beeny was a domestic helper who became like a member of the McMillin family at Roche Harbor. She was the governess and secretary to the McMillin family, who were pivotal in the founding of Roche Harbor around their lime works. Guests and staff have heard the rustling of clothing when no one is present. A storeroom door has reportedly opened on its own, and items in the storeroom have been observed shifting positions. Appliances have been known to turn on and off unexpectedly. Some visitors have felt sudden cold spots or a numbing of the hands, particularly in the lobby.
