The Occoquan Inn, now home to D'Rocco's Italian Restaurant, is said to be haunted by a Native American man who was killed there in the early 19th century. A different spirit, a mischievous male ghost nicknamed "Andrew," has also been reported in the building. Paranormal investigators consider the inn one of the most haunted buildings in Occoquan. According to local legend, a Dogue tribesman was having a clandestine affair with the innkeeper's wife in the early 1800s. The jealous innkeeper discovered the affair and shot the man as he was sneaking down the building's staircase one night, killing him as he reached the last step. A ghostly figure of a tall man with long black hair, sometimes seen in the upstairs women's restroom mirror, only to vanish when a woman turns around. The spirit's face appearing in the smoke of the fireplace. More recently, a second ghost nicknamed "Andrew" has been detected in the building and was even caught on camera by a local ghost tour. The apparition is described as a shadow figure wearing a double-breasted suit, with his arms in his pockets. Moving objects, such as borrowing tools and then returning them days later. Neatly stacking quarters and dimes that have been left in the cash register. Creating a bone-chilling cold that surrounds people before dissipating.
