Littlefield House, Austin
The Littlefield House is reputedly haunted by Alice Littlefield, who is said to be seen in windows, heard playing the piano, and her presence felt as cold spots or feelings of being watched. The legend suggests Alice was confined to the attic by her husband, George Littlefield, leading to the idea of her spirit remaining. The building, now owned by the University of Texas, is also sometimes described as having phantom footsteps, unexplained sounds, and apparitions of a housekeeper. Faces peering out from the upper windows, and general apparitions. Phantom footsteps, singing, piano music, and shrieks. Feeling a sense of being watched, unexplained cold spots, or odd sensations in the stomach. A common story states that George would lock Alice in the attic when he left to protect her, possibly due to declining mental health. Her spirit is believed to be the source of the supernatural occurrences, lingering in the house and continuing her piano playing or wandering the halls.
