The Tannersville Inn was rumored to be haunted, with reported sightings of a transparent figure in colonial garb, shadows in the dining room, dancing orbs, and a sense of being watched. One former bartender, Terri Grape, experienced bottles of whiskey exploding on their own. The inn was a subject of paranormal interest and was even featured in a book about Poconos haunted locations, which mentioned the ghost of a woman named Mabel. A transparent figure of a young Black boy in colonial garb was reported to appear at the foot of a bed upstairs. Orbs were seen dancing in the air, and shadows were observed moving across the back of the dining room. Visitors and staff reported feeling as though they were being watched. A bartender at the inn witnessed a bottle of Jameson whiskey shoot open and shatter, and a bottle of Jack Daniels burst open.
