3406 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh
The house at 3406 Brownsville Road, also known as the "Demon of Brownsville Road," is described as being haunted by a malevolent demon that manifested through phenomena like bleeding walls, objects moving on their own, physical assaults, and moaning sounds. These events were documented by Bob Cranmer, a former Allegheny County Commissioner, in his book The Demon of Brownsville Road, after his family was terrorized for years. The haunting was so severe it led to physical and psychological attacks on the family, culminating in attempts to cleanse the property and ultimately, its incident-free state after a final mass. The entity's presence was marked by a black fog, a bad smell, and blood-like substances coming out of the walls. Objects, such as Legos and drawings, were found in a sealed-up closet, and furniture moved on its own. The family heard ghostly footsteps and unsettling moaning sounds. The presence allegedly caused physical assaults, leaving the family with scratches and bite marks. Rosaries were destroyed, and crucifixes were found bent. The terror caused wife panic attacks and nervous breakdowns, requiring a psychiatric hospital stay. The Cranmer family enlisted the help of an exorcist and the Diocese of Pittsburgh. After a final mass in the basement in 2006, the supernatural incidents in the house reportedly ceased.
