Pennsylvania State Library, Harrisburg

The State Library of Pennsylvania is rumored to be haunted by spirits from its location on the site of Harrisburg's former 8th Ward, a red-light district. Reports include lights turning on and off after hours, copiers and elevator doors opening and closing by themselves, and sightings of "The White Woman" in the stacks. These paranormal occurrences have led to the library offering spooky tours during the Halloween season. Lights have been seen on in the building after closing, only to be found off by staff, or vice versa. Elevators have been observed moving between floors when not in use. The lids on copiers have been reported to open and close on their own. Employees and visitors have reported sightings of a "woman in white" in the library stacks.
