The Buck Hotel and Tavern in Jonestown, PA, a historic hotel dating back to 1804, is believed to be haunted by a number of friendly spirits. Both staff and guests have reported paranormal activity, including the presence of a playful young girl, a tinkering elderly man, and a "reorganizer" who likes to move objects. An apparition of a young girl is often seen wandering the second-floor hallways, where her family may have once lived. She is known to skip and play in the hallways and has been heard calling out for her "mommy" in a disembodied voice. A past owner reported an incident where a paint tray was knocked over, and tiny footprints were found leading away from the spill. This ghost is described as an older male spirit who, while alive, was likely a busybody or a tinkerer. Some speculate he may be a former owner, fascinated by things like indoor plumbing. He is often heard messing with the electricity and water, and sometimes his apparition is seen by guests. One past owner mentioned the man's face peeking around a door in Room 7, where he was believed to have lived. A former owner reported sleeping at the hotel during renovations and having the blankets literally pulled off of him by an unseen force. This benign spirit, possibly a previous owner, is obsessed with order. The ghost makes its presence known by moving objects around, placing them in an order that it prefers. Reports of these spirits and their friendly behavior have been reported for many years by various owners, staff, and tenants.
