Black Horse Inn, Easton
The former Black Horse Inn, also known as Stemie's Place in Easton, PA, is said to be haunted by Saverio Damiano, a gangster murdered there in 1928. Ghostly phenomena reported by staff and investigators include unexplained shadows, items moving in the kitchen, and the jukebox playing on its own. The building has since been renovated and now operates as The Iron Mule. In 1928, gangster Saverio Damiano was shot multiple times, collapsing down the basement stairs before being shot again and dying on the floor. The unsolved murder contributed to the location's reputation for being haunted. The historic building was originally established as the Black Horse Inn in 1783 and later became known as Stemie's Place and the Black Horse Tavern. Staff and paranormal investigators have documented various ghostly occurrences, including: Shadows moving through the basement.
Objects being moved or displaced in the kitchen. The jukebox activating and playing music by itself. The property is now The Iron Mule Restaurant and Bar, and the ghost of Damiano is believed to still linger there.
