The White Palm Tavern, formerly the Topton House Pub, is reportedly haunted by several spirits, including Emma, a little girl who plays in the dining room and has been heard laughing and whispering, and a priest known for tearing down Christmas decorations. A former gardener is also said to appear on the property, and phantom smells of roses have been reported. The building dates to around 1860, and the establishment's website reportedly has a section detailing its ghosts. A young girl seen playing in the dining room, sometimes causing people to trip. She has been heard whispering and laughing, and witnesses have mistaken her for a live child until told she is a ghost. A Priest: This spirit apparently dislikes Christmas decorations and is known for taking them down and tearing them up. A Former Gardener: An apparition that was once a gardener on the property has also been seen. A phantom smell of roses is another paranormal phenomenon reported at the location. Other reported paranormal activity includes seeing orbs and feeling unseen hands touch your back. Doors are said to open and close on their own in the establishment.
