The hotel's history as a hospital and pain clinic adds to its haunted mystique. A spirit in Room 3 has a reported affinity for vintage entertainment. Guests have awakened in the middle of the night to find the TV inexplicably turned on and playing old black-and-white movies. One guest claimed a young girl's voice woke them by calling "Daddy?" in the middle of the night. Another visitor on a different night reported a little girl apparition asking for a sandwich. A former owner's deceased dog, named Kirby, has been sighted by multiple people. One visitor reportedly saw a ghostly dog appear and vanish in the lobby, which the owner recognized from a sketch. Guests and staff have reported odd physical sensations, such as feeling a hand on their head while cleaning the staircase.
