The Old Wheeler Hotel in Wheeler, Oregon, is a renowned paranormal hotspot, attracting ghost hunters and tourists with its tales of resident spirits. While the spirits are largely considered benevolent by the owner, they are known to make their presence felt through various unexplained phenomena. The hotel's history as a hospital and pain clinic adds to its haunted mystique. A spirit in Room 3 has a reported affinity for vintage entertainment. Guests have awakened in the middle of the night to find the TV inexplicably turned on and playing old black-and-white movies. One guest claimed a young girl's voice woke them by calling "Daddy?" in the middle of the night. Another visitor on a different night reported a little girl apparition asking for a sandwich. A former owner's deceased dog, named Kirby, has been sighted by multiple people. One visitor reportedly saw a ghostly dog appear and vanish in the lobby, which the owner recognized from a sketch. Guests and staff have reported odd physical sensations, such as feeling a hand on their head while cleaning the staircase. In Room 5, a paranormal investigator observed a door handle jiggle and then the door swing open on its own. One report mentions finding indentations on the side of a bed.
