Argyle Winery, Dundee
Argyle Winery's tasting room, known as the Spirithouse, is believed to be haunted by Lena Imus, a woman who died in the house in 1908. Reports of her presence include spectral sights, sounds, and the faint scent of her perfume. Visitors and staff have reported hearing a woman singing, the sound of a microcassette recorder, and objects moving on their own. Lena Imus died at age 25 in 1908, after swallowing a toxic liquid at her family's home, which is now the site of the Spirithouse at Argyle Winery. Faint sounds of a woman singing have been recorded, as well as general sounds attributed to a female presence. Some visitors and staff have reported spectral sights and apparitions. The scent of Lena's signature perfume has been detected on the property. Objects have been seen moving or being thrown, such as Lena's death certificate flying off a wall. Many of Argyle Winery's employees have personal Lena stories, highlighting the widespread belief in the ghost's presence.
