The sightings often occur along the curved, hilly, and tree-lined portions of the road, particularly in the sections near the creek. The most prominent story involves the ghost of a young boy who was killed by a speeding car. His ghost is said to roll a ball into the path of oncoming cars, possibly to warn speeding drivers. Some reports claim to have seen a ball roll into the road with no one physically present. A different version of the story involves the apparition of a little girl who also died on the road.
