Gilcrease Museum, Tulsa
The Gilcrease Museum is reportedly haunted by its founder, Thomas Gilcrease, whose spirit is said to be seen and heard wandering the grounds and building, making noises and appearing as a solid figure. He is not believed to be alone, as the museum is also said to be frequented by the apparitions of several young Native American children playing in the gardens and building. Visitors and staff have also reported unexplained footsteps, doors opening and closing, and laughter, all of which are thought to be the friendly spirits of the museum's past. Thomas Gilcrease: Seen as a solid figure, often seen near the museum and gardens, and is known to make loud bangs and footsteps. Seven different apparitions of young Native American children are said to be seen and heard playing in the gardens and inside the museum. Footsteps, doors opening and closing on their own, and sounds of laughter are frequently reported. An additional unidentified male spirit is also said to be present at the museum. The hauntings are said to occur in the Gilcrease House and the surrounding Gilcrease Gardens. The entities are thought to be friendly, with reports of children's laughter and a sense of the spirits' positive presence.
