The Spring House Gazebo in Cincinnati's Eden Park is rumored to be haunted by Imogene Remus, the wife of attorney George Remus. Imogene was shot and killed by George Remus's driver in 1927 near the gazebo after she filed for divorce following his release from prison for bootlegging. The ghost is said to haunt the gazebo and nearby Mirror Lake, and the story is a well-known urban legend in Cincinnati. The Spring House Gazebo, located in Eden Park, was completed in 1904. George Remus was a prominent, but corrupt, attorney. His wife, Imogene Remus, became involved in an affair with a prohibition agent while George was in prison for bootlegging. Upon George Remus's return from prison, Imogene filed for divorce. In a vengeful act in 1927, George had his driver run his wife's car off the road near the gazebo and fatally shoot her. It is believed that Imogene's ghost still lingers around the Spring House Gazebo and Mirror Lake.
