Rí Rá Irish Pub, Charlotte
Rí Rá Irish Pub in Uptown Charlotte is widely rumored to be haunted, with ghost stories circulating among staff and patrons for years. The ghostly tales are often attributed to the historical pub interiors, which were imported from Ireland and incorporate salvaged artifacts dating back to the 1700s. A young girl in a Victorian dress is one of the pub's most famous ghosts. She is often seen near the host stand, and some believe the "ABC" letters that mysteriously appeared on a wall after a 2009 fire were scratched by her. Two young men in old-fashioned clothing, believed to be from the late 1800s or early 1900s in Ireland, have been spotted at the bar. A laughing apparition of a child has been seen on top of the bar after closing hours. The pub's basement is said to be haunted by the sounds of sewing machines, suggesting a previous tenant's spirit remains. Staff have reported beer taps mysteriously turning on by themselves. Light switches in the bathrooms have been seen flickering on and off for no reason.
