Brookstown Inn, Winston-Salem
The Brookstown Inn in Winston-Salem is reportedly haunted by several spirits, including Sally, a young woman who died in the fourth-floor elevator shaft, and Eddie, a man who suffered a fatal accident and cannot find rest. The historic inn, built around 1836 and formerly a cotton mill, retains original architectural features and is said to host paranormal activity associated with these former residents. Sally: A tragic figure whose spirit is said to reside on the fourth floor, particularly in Room 401, where she died in the elevator shaft in the 1800s. Eddie: Another spirit who wanders the halls at night, unable to rest after a terrible death. The inn was originally built as a cotton mill in 1836, making it one of the South's first electric-powered mills. Its historic architecture includes original fireplaces, preserved mill pieces, and a unique graffiti wall from the 1800s. Visitors and staff have reported encounters with the spirits of Sally and Eddie.
