USS The Sullivans, Buffalo

The USS The Sullivans is said to be haunted by the spirits of the five Sullivan brothers, particularly George, who died along with his brothers on the USS Juneau during WWII. Reports include flickering lights, disembodied voices and footsteps, apparitions of shadowy figures and a sailor with a mangled face, objects moving on their own, and equipment turning on by itself. Some believe the brothers, who died when the ship they served on was sunk, are connected to this ship, which was named in their honor. Visitors and staff have reported seeing a shadow figure or a full-bodied apparition in various areas, including the mess hall. One former security guard described a bloodied ghostly figure of George Sullivan. Ghostly sounds, knocking, footsteps, and disembodied voices are frequently heard. Some visitors report hearing strange beeps or static, like that of radar. Lights are reported to flicker on and off, and electrical equipment, including radios and radar, is known to turn on or operate on its own. Locked hatches have been heard unlocking, and a door was heard shutting when it shouldn't have. One account mentions a photo that shows a black skull in the background, and another claims a memorial photo on board is never clear due to spiritual distortion.
