Kimball Castle in Gilford, NH is considered haunted, with reports from castle owners and caretakers including a full-body apparition, a horse banging on the stable walls, doors opening and closing, and the sighting of a figure in the living room. The site was investigated on the SciFi Channel show Ghost Hunters in an episode titled "Star Island" and has also been featured on other local television programs. A complete, visible spectral figure has been seen. A horse's hooves have been heard banging on the walls, particularly in the stable area. Doors have been observed opening and closing on their own. A mysterious figure has been seen in the castle's living room. An investigation of the castle aired on the SciFi Channel, in an episode called "Star Island". The Boston and New Hampshire editions of the television program Chronicle have also featured the castle.
