The Goldfield Hotel in Goldfield, Nevada is reportedly haunted by various spirits, including Elizabeth, a prostitute allegedly murdered by the owner George Wingfield, and other early miners and sex workers who lived and died there during the town's mining boom. Guests and tour-goers have reported witnessing apparitions, shadows, disembodied voices, and even aggressive paranormal activity. The hotel's most famous spectral resident, Elizabeth, was a favorite of the notorious owner, George Wingfield. The legend claims Wingfield locked her in a room until her illegitimate child was born, after which he discarded the infant into a mine shaft and murdered Elizabeth. She is said to wander the halls as a woman in a white dress. One of the more aggressive spirits reported, The Stabber is said to randomly attack those who enter the hotel with a large knife. The hotel is also said to be home to the spirits of other early miners and "ladies of the evening". Many report seeing the apparitions of Elizabeth. Sounds of disembodied voices are common. Guests have reported seeing shadows moving in various parts of the hotel. Some describe feeling a hostile presence and even being targeted for physical attack.
