The Fort Peck Hotel is believed to be haunted by the spirits of workers who died during the construction of the Fort Peck Dam in the 1930s, when the building served as a living quarters. Paranormal reports have been documented for decades by guests, staff, and paranormal investigators, with different apparitions and phenomena observed throughout the historic building. Numerous specific spirits and paranormal events have been reported at the Fort Peck Hotel. These include apparitions such as one believed to be an engineer from the 1930s seen in the hallways and basement, a female spirit in Room 202 who is said to rearrange belongings, and a ghost rumored to frequent a red armchair on an upper floor. Unexplained sounds like whistling and children's laughter have also been reported. Poltergeist activity, such as moving objects and flickering lights, is common, particularly in the original section of the hotel. Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP) recordings have also reportedly captured unexplained voices.
