The ghost of Ver Young Thomas is said to appear in a mirror in one of the parlor rooms. Ver Young Thomas died at the age of 17, and her parents had the building named after her. The building is now known as Alumnae Hall. Dressed in a white, lacy gown from the early 1900s, the apparition is believed to be a friendly ghost. She reportedly appears late at night in the corner of the parlor room. Williams Hall: This building is said to be haunted by a ghost known as the "Gray Lady". During the Civil War era, the Gray Lady was a student whose fiancé was fighting for the Confederacy. She vowed to wear gray until her fiancé could return and replace the gray dress with a white wedding gown. Tragically, she was killed by Union forces and is sometimes said to have jumped to her death from the top floor of Old Main. The Gray Lady is believed to be a benevolent spirit who still roams the campus, sometimes even helping current students.
