Grey Cloud Island in St. Paul Park, Minnesota, is known for several paranormal accounts, most notably sightings of a phantom white pickup truck that allegedly chases other drivers off the island. The island is also described as having other supernatural phenomena, such as crying babies, disembodied sounds of bouncing balls and gates creaking, and a ghostly figure of a man with a lantern. Some visitors have also reported experiencing mysterious car problems when on the island. The most recurring reported phenomenon is the appearance of a white pickup truck that follows and "chases" local drivers, aiming to force them off the island. Visitors to the island's cemeteries have reported hearing distinct sounds of crying babies, which some attribute to the graves of stillborn children. Other auditory experiences include the sound of a young boy bouncing a ball and the creaking sound of a gate opening or closing. One visitor reported seeing a man approaching them with a lantern, but the figure appeared headless. Some visitors to the island have experienced sudden and unexplained car problems. The island was named after a Native-American chief and has a history as an important site for various native peoples, including mound-builders and the Mississippian culture.
