Minneapolis City Hall is rumored to be haunted by the ghost of John Moshik, whose 1898 hanging was gruesomely botched. The legend of John Moshik: Moshik was convicted of murder in 1898. He was executed in the building's old jail. Due to a mishap, he did not die instantly from a broken neck. Instead, he was slowly strangled over three agonizing minutes. For years, staff and visitors have reported paranormal activity on the building's fifth floor, where the execution took place. Moshik's spirit is said to remain there.
