The Seul Choix Pointe Lighthouse is known for paranormal activity, particularly involving the main spirit, Captain Joseph Willie Townsend, who died there and whose face has been seen in mirrors, along with the presence of cigar smoke linked to him and the ghost of his daughter, Dorothy. Other spirits, like midwife Amanda Blanchard and Augustus Pond, are also reported, with a woman experiencing a near-fall down the stairs and being saved by unseen hands. These lingering spirits are believed to be the ghosts of people who loved the lighthouse so much they never left. Captain Joseph Willie Townsend: The primary spirit, believed to have come to the lighthouse in 1902. His face has appeared in a mirror multiple times, and the scent of his cigar smoke is frequently reported in the living quarters, even when the house is set up to make visitors feel like the keepers are still there. Dorothy Townsend: The Captain's daughter, who appears as a six-year-old girl in a white dress. Her presence is often noted when the Captain's cigar smoke is smelled. Amanda Blanchard: The spirit of a midwife who lived at the lighthouse for over 40 years. There are several reports of her image appearing in photographs, looking out of the windows. Augustus Pond: Another spirit associated with the lighthouse, seen at the top of the tower. The smell of cigar smoke is a common occurrence, even though the Captain's wife was said to not allow him to smoke in the house. Visitors have reported seeing Captain Townsend's face appear in a mirror. One account tells of a woman being saved from falling down the stairs by two hands on her waist, leaving five red finger marks on her sides.
