According to local legend, the Mordecai Lincoln Mill in Scituate, Massachusetts, is haunted by the ghost of a young girl who drowned in the adjacent mill pond. The mill, which was built by President Abraham Lincoln's great-great-great-grandfather around 1692, has been the site of various reported paranormal activities. The spirit of a young girl, said to have drowned in the pond in the mid-1800s, is reportedly seen clawing or pressing her face against the windows of the mill. Witnesses have reported hearing the cries and screams of a child coming from the mill and the nearby pond. Some have reported seeing small, wet footprints appearing on the road in front of the mill building. Psychic mediums have warned that a presence more malevolent than the girl's ghost may also inhabit the barn or surrounding property.
