Endicott College, Beverly
Endicott College has several reportedly haunted locations, including Brindle Hall, where students hear marbles and whispers, and Reynolds Hall, home to a ghostly girl who died in a stairwell fall or drowning and sometimes appears near a locked crawl space containing a porcelain tub, and Winthrop Hall, said to be haunted by a "Pink Lady" or "Lady in White" searching for a lost love. Other alleged phenomena include doors opening on their own, furniture moving, and mysterious handprints. Brindle Hall: Students report hearing the sound of marbles bouncing on the stairs, feeling a sudden chill, and hearing faint coughs and whispers from empty rooms. Doors are said to open on their own, and window shades fly up, sometimes revealing handprints on the windows. Tree branches outside are sometimes said to form the word "Julie". Some report seeing their roommates levitating, with a dark figure by their side. Reynolds Hall: The building was formerly the Kendall Hall School for Girls, where a young girl allegedly died after a fall or drowning. Lights flicker, objects fall, picture frames turn face down, and a creepy doll has been seen moving between rooms. Students report seeing a young girl watching from the stairwell or hearing her footsteps. A locked crawl space contains a porcelain tub, a possible site of the drowning legend. Residents are warned not to touch the doorknob of a strange "floating door" for fear of bad luck. Winthrop Hall: The hall was built in 1845 and is associated with legends of treacherous waters and lost sea captains. A ghostly figure, known as the Pink Lady, Lady in White, or Lady in Blue, is said to walk the veranda, searching for a lost love. The figure appears when the light is right, sometimes described as having no legs as she moves about the grounds before disappearing into the fog.
