The Jonathan Hager House Museum in Hagerstown, Maryland, is considered one of the state's most haunted sites, with numerous reports of paranormal activity. The historical stone house has been the site of at least 13 deaths, contributing to the many ghost stories associated with the property. Visitors have reported hearing unexplained voices throughout the house. Objects are said to move on their own, with no one nearby to touch them. Footsteps and the sound of heavy items being dragged have been heard moving across the stone floor. A female apparition has been seen looking out of the windows. Some visitors have reported an unsettling feeling of being watched. A corn cob doll on display has reportedly been found in different locations within the house. Unexplained fluctuations in temperature, including cold spots and sudden drops, have been reported by visitors and staff. A dark male figure has been spotted both inside the house and elsewhere in the surrounding City Park. The house was built in 1740 by Jonathan Hager, the founder of Hagerstown, and was sold to another family after he died in a construction accident in 1775.
