The Admiral Peary Inn in Fryeburg, Maine, is primarily rumored to be haunted by the ghost of a young girl, sometimes called Annabelle. Guests and paranormal investigators have also reported encountering the spirits of a young boy and a woman. A psychic visitor to the inn is said to have identified the spirit of a girl, believed to be around 7 or 8 years old, and named her Annabelle. Multiple guests have reported seeing the ghost of a young girl, even though innkeepers stated they have no historical record of a child living or dying in the 19th-century house. Innkeepers were reportedly hesitant to mention the stories to guests, as they didn't want to frighten them, but sightings continued to occur. A team from the paranormal reality show Haunt ME investigated the inn. The team reported hearing the voice of a young boy named Nathan through a spirit box. During the investigation, one team member experienced a vision of someone falling down the stairs. A woman, believed to be named Abigail, has been sighted in the windows of the Admiral's Quarters. Unexplained whistling has also been recorded in the Admiral's Quarters. Paranormal teams have also captured audio of footsteps in the inn's Serengeti room.
