Fox Theater, Hutchinson
The Fox Theater in Hutchinson, Kansas is said to be haunted by at least two spirits: a construction worker named Otis, who died on the job, and a younger girl who appears in the lobby. Witnesses have reported unexplained events such as lights turning on and off, footsteps, shadows moving, and equipment malfunctions, with some attributing these phenomena to Otis and the girl. A construction worker from the theater's original building period, Otis died after falling from the catwalk above the stage. He is said to wander the theater, seemingly observing the details, but not interacting with people. A young female spirit has been seen in the theater's lobby. A spirit of a panhandler is also believed to haunt the theater, with the odd behavior of disappearing when people offer him money. Bright lights have been seen turning on and off, and shadows have been witnessed moving in the projection room and lobby. During paranormal investigations, equipment has shown signs of malfunction, with batteries draining and electromagnetic field (EMF) changes observed. Footsteps have been heard on the stage. Aside from the girl and the panhandler, a shadow has been seen moving across the end of the lobby.
