The Indianapolis Athletic Club (IAC) is said to be haunted due to a fatal fire in 1992 that killed two people, with reported phenomena including loud banging, electronics failing, and the sighting of shadow figures in a hallway where firefighters died. The building, now luxury condos, reportedly has a ghost that tries to save people, and firefighters pause at the building during parades to honor their fallen comrades. Tenants and visitors report hearing loud banging, especially on the third floor. Electronics are known to stop working, particularly on the third floor. Shadowy figures are seen in the long hallway where firefighters died. A frantic ghost is believed to try to save people during the night. The hauntings are linked to a 1992 five-alarm fire at the IAC, which claimed the lives of two people. The incident also resulted in the deaths of some firefighters, and their spirits are believed to be among the entities present. The building was closed in 2004 and was converted into luxury condos.
