St. Rita's Parish in Chicago is reportedly the site of several ghostly encounters, including the appearance of monks on All Souls Day and a friendly, watchful spirit on the second floor. One anecdote mentions experiencing an invisible presence on the second floor, while another describes the vision of six robed monks—three black, three white—on a spiritual holiday. On All Souls Day in the early 1960s, St. Rita's parish allegedly witnessed six robed monks who appeared, three in black robes and three in white. The Unseen Presence on the Second Floor: A social studies teacher at Malvern (a different school) reported feeling a friendly and amiable spirit watching over the building on the second floor of the school, which is near St. Rita's.
