Legends describe the mausoleum's door as mysteriously warm despite being sealed since the 1960s, an eerie groaning sound heard after holy water was poured in a vent, and a pale, gaunt figure seen in the area. The cemetery is also known for vandalism, including the theft of a skull in the 1960s, which led to the mausoleum's door being cemented shut. A ghost who reportedly guards the cemetery and is believed to be the former caretaker of the Massock estate, who may have murdered his wife with an ax. The "Vampire" or Pale Figure: A pale, thin, gaunt, and ghastly figure that appears in the cemetery at night. The door of the Massock Mausoleum, sealed since the 1960s, is said to remain warm to the touch. A reporter poured holy water into a vent of the mausoleum and heard groaning sounds coming from inside, according to one account. The mausoleum is the final resting place for the Massock brothers, who were prominent businessmen and butchers in the community. In the 1960s, a local boy broke into the mausoleum and stole a skull, leading to the door being cemented shut. More recent vandalism has included a dog's head being found on the mausoleum steps.
