The Eliza Thompson House, Savannah

The Eliza Thompson House, a historic Savannah inn, is known for being haunted by several entities, including a young girl in a white dress, children laughing, and a Confederate soldier seen in the window of Room 132, the inn's most frequently reported haunted location. Guests and staff have also reported hearing footsteps, giggling, and feeling bedsheets tugged off their feet. A Confederate soldier's spirit is frequently seen standing in the window of Room 132. A ghostly young girl, sometimes seen in a white dress, is reported to run through the hallways, giggling, and jumping on beds. Some guests report hearing the sounds of children laughing, particularly in the evenings. Guests in Room 132 have had their bedsheets tugged, and a child's presence has been felt jumping on the bed next to them. The house was built in 1847 by cotton dealer Joseph Thompson for his wife, Eliza Thompson, and their seven children. After her husband was killed in 1855, Eliza was left to raise their seven children on her own, a fact often connected to the house's lingering hauntings.
