The Captain Daniel Packer Inne is described as being haunted by two primary spirits: Captain Daniel Packer himself, who is said to walk the floors, and his young niece, Adah (or Ada), who died as a child in the 1800s and is heard giggling, playing, and being seen in colonial garb near the stairwell. The inn also reports other phenomena, including unseen hands shaking guests in room 10, a "Grey Lady" apparition, and a possible "Civil War Soldier". The original builder, Captain Daniel Packer, is said to be a ghostly presence, sometimes heard or felt walking across the floors of the inn. The spirit of Captain Packer's niece, who died of scarlet fever at a young age, is frequently reported. She is described as a playful spirit, sometimes giggling and seen playing in the stairwell, particularly near the upper banquet room. She has been seen by visitors and even in colonial garb. Glassware and silverware have reportedly been moved or thrown from tables, and a door to a bathroom was found broken after being locked from the inside. Guests in Room 10 have been awakened by an unseen hand shaking them. A "Grey Lady" and a "Civil War Soldier" have been reported in the inn. Visitors sometimes report feeling a heavy sensation or an innocent, sweet presence, such as the feeling of the little girl's presence next to them. The inn, built in 1756, was originally owned by Captain Daniel Packer and remained in his family for generations.
