Union Cemetery in Easton, Connecticut, is known for its high levels of paranormal activity and is often called one of the most haunted cemeteries in the country, with the most famous entity being the "White Lady" apparition. Ed and Lorraine Warren documented paranormal encounters, including a video of the White Lady. The haunting is attributed to spirits of the deceased whose bodies are buried there and who refuse to be forgotten, roaming the cemetery and surrounding area, especially at night when fog from nearby swamps drifts in. The most prominent ghost associated with the cemetery, a female apparition said to be buried near the small white church in the graveyard. Ghost hunters and visitors have reported a wide range of paranormal activity throughout the centuries-old cemetery. Some believe the spirits are restless and roam the cemetery and nearby Route 59 because they have unfinished business or are bound to their burial sites. Union Cemetery is located in Easton, Connecticut, at the intersection of Route 59 and Stepney Road. The cemetery dates back to the 18th century.
