The Boulder Theater is said to be haunted by a ghost named George Paper, a former theater manager. According to the legend, Paper met his end in the 1940s when he was accidentally hanged by dangling wiring. He is known for turning lights on and off. Faucets in the bathrooms are said to turn on by themselves. Bathroom doors will open unexpectedly on their own. Patrons have reported seeing a ghostly apparition dash past them. The ghost is so well-known in the area that the pub next door to the theater is named George's Food & Drink, in honor of the active spirit.
