Houdini Mansion, Los Angeles

While there isn't a definitive description of "hauntings" at the Houdini Estate, stories of paranormal activity include disembodied sounds, such as loud banging in the basement and doors closing on the second floor at night, attributed to its complex history of owners and structures, including a maze of hidden tunnels and caves built by previous residents or used by Houdini himself for magic and escapes. The estate, initially a retreat for Houdini, features terraced gardens and a deep-water tank he reportedly used for practicing underwater escapes. People who have lived at the property reported hearing loud bangs from the basement and doors closing at night on the second floor, even when no one else was present.
