Curran Theatre, San Francisco
The main haunting at the Curran Theatre is said to be the ghost of Huelet Tarr, a 25-year-old ticket seller who was accidentally shot and killed in November 1933 by a botched robbery attempt. Patrons and staff have reported seeing his reflection in the lobby mirrors and experiencing other unexplained phenomena. Other alleged hauntings include former actors and actresses who may remain in the theater after their deaths. In 1933, a young thug named Eddie Anderson attempted to rob Tarr at the ticket booth. The gun, fired through the ticket window bars, hit Tarr in the heart. He reportedly stumbled back and fell down the stairs of the booth, dying instantly. Tarr's spirit is said to linger in the theater's lobby. People have reported seeing his reflection in the lobby mirrors, especially late at night. Some believe that the spirits of former actors and actresses who performed at the Curran may have chosen to stay and haunt their former workplace.
