The Peel Mansion is described as haunted by local legend, with claims of piano music being heard from one of the rooms when no one is playing, often attributed to the ghost of Minnie Belle Peel. Another legend tells of a girl named Margery who supposedly revived after being pronounced dead, with some workers believing her spirit lingered in the room where she had been awaiting funeral preparations. The ghost of Samuel Peel's daughter, Minnie Belle, is said to play the piano in one of the mansion's rooms. When someone enters the room, the piano playing abruptly stops. Legend of Margery: The story involves the English twins Margery and Elizabeth, who lived in the mansion in the early 20th century. Margery reportedly suffered from a ruptured appendix and was covered by a sheet for several hours, awaiting funeral preparations. However, she is said to have revived, making a full recovery. Despite her recovery, some estate workers believed that her spirit continued to linger in the room where she had been pronounced dead. The mansion was built in 1875 by Samuel Peel, who was a U.S. Representative. The 180-acre estate is now a historical landmark in Bentonville.
