The Mayberry Inn was built to cater to travelers and was a site of documented healing springs and various incidents of violence, including a fatal card game that left bloodstains on the floor. People have reported hearing the bloodcurdling screams of a woman and the crying of a baby. Some witnesses claim to have seen the apparition of a body in the house.
