Scottsdale Public Library, Scottsdale
An investigation for paranormal activity was conducted at the Scottsdale Civic Center Library and Arabian branch in 2010 after staff and patrons reported several strange occurrences. Reports included disembodied voices, books mysteriously falling from shelves, and people feeling odd sensations. After the Civic Center Library was closed for the night, a librarian heard voices when no one else was present. A library patron at the Arabian branch claimed to have witnessed two books fall off a shelf on their own. Both staff and customers reported having strange feelings while inside the libraries. In response to these events, the library staff hired a professional team from Sonoran Paranormal Investigations The team used advanced equipment, including eight cameras and an electromagnetic field (EMF) monitor, to search for evidence of paranormal activity. While an official finding was not widely reported, the investigator on the case suggested a possible cause for the haunting could be the spirit of someone who deeply loved libraries.
