Pratt Hall, Huntingdon College
Pratt Hall at Huntingdon College is reportedly haunted by the "Red Lady," the spirit of Martha, a lonely student who died tragically in her fourth-floor room in the early 20th century. Legend says she decorated her room in red, and her restless spirit is seen as a glowing red light or apparition in red, sometimes with a red parasol. Sightings include her walking the dormitory halls and footsteps heard outside doors, even long after the building was no longer a dormitory. The Legend of Martha and the Red Lady: The ghost is said to be Martha, a former Huntingdon student who lived a sorrowful and isolated life. After her roommate left, Martha became sullen, didn't attend classes or meals, and eventually took her own life in her room. Martha had a fondness for red and decorated her room with a red rug and bedspread. Her spirit appears as a glowing red light or an apparition in a red dress and carrying a red parasol, sometimes with a red aura. A red light has been seen emanating from beneath the doors of her former room, even after Pratt Hall ceased being a dormitory. Students in the past heard her footsteps in the halls and saw the apparition walking through the corridors.
