Malaga Inn, Mobile
The Malaga Inn is known for several reported paranormal activities, including a ghostly woman seen pacing on the balcony of Room 007, chandeliers swinging on their own, and furniture moving or lights flickering without a known cause. Other reported experiences include doors opening and closing, objects being unplugged, and guests feeling touched in their beds while sleeping. Some stories also mention a hidden bunker connected to a tunnel system from the Civil War era, and a mysterious portrait of "Aunt Freda" that is said to glow in the dark. A woman in white has been seen pacing the balcony of Room 007, and the portrait of Aunt Freda reportedly glows when lights are out. Chandeliers swing without reason, lights flicker and turn on by themselves, and lamps get mysteriously unplugged. Furniture also shifts on its own. Guests have reported hearing footsteps outside their doors and windows, feeling someone crawling into bed with them at night, and experiencing a general feeling of coldness in some areas. A bunker was discovered on the property in the 1990s, which is believed to be connected to the Civil War-era tunnel system. The Malaga Inn was built in 1862 as twin townhomes and was converted into a hotel in the 1960s.
